Envelope Punch Board and File Folder Cards

Hi friends! About a week ago I shared news with you about the Envelope Punch Board and that you could make 66 different sized envelopes! Well today I'm going to share with you how to make some fun File Folder cards! Here's the video on how to use the Envelope Punch Board. You can place your order here!

Here's a card that I made using the Envelope Punch Board and directions from one of my fellow demonstrators Patty Bennet.

So do you want the basic instructions on how to make one of these fun File Folder cards? I have a quick photo tutorial on how to do so. So let's get started:

You start with a piece of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" scored in the middle

If you don't want your tabs to be even then you will need to cut off some paper from one end...I cut 3/4" off

Next line up the left side of your paper in the left side of the opening of the Envelope Punch Board and then punch

This is what you end up with

Place your paper back into the board and slide over to the 3" mark (this gives you the tab length)
then punch again

Now you are going to switch over to your paper cutter, you will need to line up the valley that you have with the groove on your paper cutter (so you cut off from the bottom of the valley over)

Place your cutter in the middle of that groove to make your cut

This is what you end up with after making your cut

Next you want to you use the round your off the corner (did you know this punch board has a built-in corner rounder...love it!

Here's what you end up with

Now you need to repeat the process for the other side, but before beginning you need to flip your paper over before beginning the process...line up the left side of your paper in the left side of the opening of the Envelope Punch Board and then punch

Slide your paper over to the 3" mark (this gives you the tab length)
then punch again

Now you are going to switch over to your paper cutter, you will need to line up the valley that you have with the groove on your paper cutter (so you cut off from the bottom of the valley over)

Place your cutter in the middle of that groove to make your cut

Now you have a completed File Folder card

As I said I kept this very basic just to give you the instructions on how to make them. I hope you like this tutorial. Let me know if you did! I added my DSP before making my cuts. Here is another card that I made.

Notice that I didn't make any tabs on the back I only rounded the corners...let your imagination run wild when you start making these! They are so much fun to make!
