A Tutorial

Hi Friends! A few days ago I mentioned that I was working on a tutorial, I'm happy to report that I finished it! This is a first for me, well a first on my blog. I've done them before, but never here. So bear with me as I go step by step with you.

My tutorial today is on a Note card box. I like making things that you can give as gifts and this serves that purpose. So are you ready? Here we go!

This box will hold several 3 1/2 x 5/12" cards and envelopes.

Start with a 6" x 7 1/2" piece of card stock and score 1" from each edge. Snip the ends on the scorelines up to the intersecting scorelines.

Add some double-sided tape on the four corners.

Fold to create a box. I later fixed my box with the tabs on the inside (but failed to get a photo of the what you see is my oops)!

Now it's time to create the base/lid portion of the box. Cut a 9 1/2" x 6" piece of card stock and score at 4 1/4" and 5 1/4".

Fold on the score lines.

Adhere the box portion to the bottom of the card stock piece.

Now you can decorate as you wish. I used the Designer Series Paper Sycamore Street and Ribbon from the upcoming Sale-A-Bration promotion to decorate my completed box and added a belly band to help with keeping it closed.

I hoped you enjoyed my first tutorial and that you trying making some of these boxes to give or keep for yourself!
